• 両方りょうほう — both sides
• 両親りょうしん — parents

両 originally means "two things forming a pair." It has also been used historically to refer to a unit of currency in the Edo period. Today, it’s used in expressions involving "both" and also as a counter for vehicles (like trains and cars).

両親りょうしんに 感謝かんしゃしています。
I am grateful to my parents.

電車でんしゃは 八はち両りょうでした。
The train had eight cars.
