八部はちぶ：Other

Description

Often associated with the idea of “dividing” or “splitting.” As a radical, it also serves a structural role in organizing kanji by shape.

Kanji Using This Radical

Note: 八 most often appears as a bottom (あし) component in kanji. In this position it can suggest a supporting or dividing base, as seen in characters above. When 八 appears at the top of a kanji, it is called "はちがしら."
